Milling

Wheat is milled on a Buhler Long Flow and a Kice Short Flow Milling Units. Although both mills represent relatively new technology, they utilize standard roller mills, sifters, and auxiliary equipment used for over 100 years in the milling industry. Roller mills are more precise in their grind and, contrary to myth, operate cooler than stone mills. Roller mills can be automated for a more consistent product. Our mill operates 24 hours a day unattended. This cannot be done with stone mills, which also require constant supervision and maintenance.

The flour mills produce 350,000 pounds of flour in 24 hours..

Stock from the roller mills is being checked for proper grind.

Critical operations of the mill are controlled by a Programable Logic Controller (PLC).
